AEdui

AEdui, the name of a powerful tribe which inhabited the territory between the Saone (Arar) and the Loire (Liger) in Gaul at the time of Caesar's invasion (58 B.C.). At first they made common cause with Caesar against Ariovistus, but later they followed Vercingetorix in his final effort at Alesia (Alise-Sainte-Reine).
