Adenitis

Adenitis, inflammation of the lymphatic glands, not unfrequently associated with angeioleucitis, or inflammation of the absorbent vessels. In the latter affection the course of the inflamed lymph canals may be traced as red lines beneath the skin; it is usually excited by a wound. Adenitis may occur, however, alone, and not uncommonly results in an abscess; it may be regarded as a conservative process, tending to prevent the passage of poisonous material beyond the lymphatic gland and into the general circulation.
