Agamidae

Agamidae, an extensive family of lizards of the division Crassilingues, representing in the Eastern Hemisphere the Iguanas of the New World. The body is broad and flat, and the skin covered more or less with spiny scales. They are terrestrial in habit, and are found principally in deserts and sandy places. Many of them have vivid and varied coloration, and to this family belong the "dragons" or flying lizards.
