Aidin

Aidin, or Guzel-Hissae, a town of Asiatic Turkey, in the pashalic of Anatolia, 70 miles S.E. of Smyrna, with which it is connected by railway. It is pleasantly situated on the famous Meander, and the ancient Tralles stands on a neighbouring hill. The district is very fertile, and produces great quantities of figs, which are dried and exported to Europe. A good general trade is done in the bazaars.
