Artedi

Artedi, Peter, a Swedish naturalist, born in 1705. He and Linnaeus were such close friends that they made a mutual bequest to each other of all their manuscripts. Artedi was drowned in 1738, and Linnaeus therefore published his Bibliotheca Ichthyologiea, and Philosophia Ichthyologiea in 1738.
