Carancaway
Carancaway, a large Texan tribe formerly ranging along the coast from Galveston Island to the Rio Grande del Norte; said to have been cannibals, and noted for their great stature, averaging 6 ft., were reduced to forty or fifty in 1843, when they migrated to Tamaulipas in Mexico, and are now probably extinct.
