Carbamines, also called isocyanides, or isonitriles, are a class of organic compounds, of the composition X.N.C. where X is any hydrocarbon radical, as methyl, ethyl, etc. They are volatile and poisonous, with a disgusting odour, and form a large class of chemically important substances.
