Coquelin

Coquelin, Benoit Constant, a noted French actor (b. 1841). Born at Boulogne, he entered the Conservatoire in 1859, and obtained the second prize for Comedy. He appeared at the Theatre-Francais in 1860 as Gros Rene in Depit Amoureux. He played there till 1886, and then appeared in London in 1887-88, going afterwards to South America and to the United States. He has recently bbeen playing again in London.
