Cuddapah

Cuddapah, a town of British India. 139 miles N.W. of Madras, capital of the district of Cuddapah. Its climate is oppressively hot. The district ceded to the British in 1800 is watered by the river Pennair and its tributaries, and occupies an area of 8,745 square miles. The hill country is rich in minerals.
