Cygnus
Cygnus, a constellation lying between the pole-star and Aquila, Its five principal stars form an easily-recognised cross, the uppermost star being of first magnitude, and the lowest being a coloured double star. The distance of 61 Cygni was determined by Bessel to be about 60 billion miles. Struve calculated it to be more nearly 40 billion miles.
