Dalriada
Dalriada, the name of an old Irish territory now forming the northern part of the county of Antrim. It was inhabited by a colony of Gaelic Scots who dwelt among the Picts. In 498 some of them migrated to Argyll, and founded another Dalriada. In 843 Kenneth MacAlpin united Scots and Picts, and founded the kingdom of Albyn or Scotland.
