De Witt, Cornelius

De Witt, Cornelius (1623-1672), brother of Jan, did good service in the Dutch navy. On the fall of the Orange family he was elected Burgomaster of his native Dort, and deputy for West Friesland and Holland. He fought under De Ruyter. How he died is stated in the entry for Jan De Witt.
