Feith

Feith, Rhynvis (b. 1753), a Netherland poet, born at Zwoll in Overyssel. He studied law at Leyden, and in 1770 returned to his native town, of which he became burgomaster. His style was melancholy and sentimental. Among his works are a poem on De Ruyter, The Grave (Het Graf), Old Age (De Oudevdom), Oden en Gedicltten, and he collaborated with Bilderdyk in De Geuzen (The Beggars), as the party of freedom in the 16th century were called. A collection has been made of his letters also.
