Fenwick

Fenwick, Sir John (1645-1697), an English conspirator, served for a time in the army, and in 1688 entered Parliament as a Tory member for Northumberland. He was accused as an accomplice in a plot to assassinate William III., and was com. mitted to the Tower in 1696. He made statements involving the Whig leaders in the plot, and they brought in a bill of attainder against him, which was passed, and he was beheaded.
