Flood

Flood, Henry (1732-1791), an Irish politician, was educated at Trinity College, Dublin, and at Christ Church. In 1759 he was returned to the Irish Parliament for Kilkenny, and in 1761 for Callan. He was leader of the popular party, and distinguished himself as an orator and duellist.

From 1775 to 1781 he was Vice-Treasurer of Ireland. He considered Grattan much too mild a politician. In 1783 he represented Winchester in the English Parliament, and Seaford in 1785, but he did not make much mark in the English House. His Life and Correspondence have been published.
