Honey Buzzard

Honey Buzzard (Pernis apivora), called also the Bee Kite or Wasp Kite, a European bird, owing its latter names to its habit of taking the larvae from the nests of bees and wasps - the first being apparently erroneous and having affinities with both kites and buzzards. The general coloration is brown, and the under surface is sometimes spotted with white. The food consists principally of wasp grubs, though other larvae and small animals are eaten. The Crested Honey Buzzard (P. cristatus) is a native of India.
