Maidenhair

Maiden-hair, the popular name of the species of Adiantum (q.v.) and some other ferns having slender black leaf-stalks. The rare British species Adiantum Capillus-Veneris. A. cuneatum, the large-leaved A.farleyense, and the tiny-leaved A. graaillimum. are commonly cultivated in greenhouses and largely used in bouquets. Asplenium Adiantumnigrum, the black maiden-hair spleenwort, and A. Trichomancs, the English maiden-hair, are common British ferns.
