Meung

Meung, Jean de (Jean Clopinel), a French mediaeval writer, was born at Meun-sur-Loire in the middle of the 13th century. He continued the Boman de la Rose, altering its tone from that of a poem to that of a contemporary satire. He also translated the New Testament into single-rhymed quatrains. He died soon after 1300.
