Schleicher

Schleicher, AUGUST, born in 1821, became professor of Slavonic philology at Prague in 1850, and in 1857 was appointed honorary professor at Jena, where he died in 1868. Among his best-known works are a Compendium of the Comparative Grammar of the Indo-Germanic Languages, a Handbook of Lithuanian Languages, and The Languages of Enrope.
